If you have ever considered studying or working abroad, Turing’s scheme could help turn your dream into reality. Financed by the United Kingdom government, it makes it easier and more accessible to students, regardless of their background.
The Erasmus+ scheme has been replaced in the United Kingdom and allows you to explore new cultures, obtain disabling skills and boost your professional perspectives. And although many students choose to study in Europe, the Turing scheme offers global opportunities.

What is the Turing scheme?
In December 2020, Boris Johnson announced that Great Britain would no longer participate in the Erasmus+program. This meant that the students of the United Kingdom were no longer eligible to run. Shortly after in 2021, the Turing scheme was brought as replacement.

Who is eligible for the Turing scheme?

One of the best things about the Turing scheme is how accessible it is for students and young people from different origins. It does not need to be a national of the United Kingdom to participate and there is also no higher age limit.
However, your organization or education provider must be registered in the United Kingdom or in a British territory abroad.
Here is a quick summary of who can get involved with the Turing scheme:
- University students Hoping to study at another university or join a learning program with an organization abroad.
- Apprentices, university students and sixth form Seeking to do a practice abroad or study at an associated university or university.

- Four to eight weeks in group two countries: £ 17 per day
- Eight weeks or more in the countries of group one: £ 14 per day
- Eight weeks or more in group two countries: £ 12 per day.
Financing does not tend to cover the tuition fees, but universities are generally expected to renounce the students of the Turing scheme.
Disadvantaged or sub -present students
If it is of a disadvantaged or underrepresented environment, you can obtain additional funds to pay your passport, vaccines, visas, medical certificate and travel insurance. It is considered that it is of a disadvantaged or surrounding environment if:

- Four to eight weeks in group two countries: £ 21 per day

- Eight weeks or more in group two countries: £ 16 per day.
How to request the Turing scheme
If it is eligible for the Turing scheme, you must request your school, university or university, since students and students cannot be applied. Once you know what financing is available through the scheme, communicate with your educational provider.
